Career | Working from Home Tips {Pt. 2}

In the my first working from home post, I talked about the importance of having a designated workspace. In this post, I’m going to talk about the importance of dressing the part. It’s important to wake up in the morning, shower and get dressed even if you have nowhere to go for the day. It’s very easy to want to be comfortable in sweats and a t-shirt because after all, you’re home. I can’t count the amount of times I work in my pajamas or with a shirt and no pants (I know, awful). On those days, I simply don’t feel like working as hard as I should. Pajamas and sweats equal bed and Netflix, not work. The difference in the quality and quantity of my work is huge when I decide to get dressed as if I was headed to a meeting. Doing so made me take my day by the horn and cross everything off my to do list.  Dressing and looking the part is just as important as doing the work. I know it’s hard to get dressed when you know deep down you’re not going anywhere, but do it! It will give you that office vibe you’re missing to boost your day. PS, I do not curl my hair or wear makeup and dresses to work everyday (I promise).
