A few weeks ago I hosted my family for an early Easter celebration. For those who don’t know, my family resides in Ottawa and I’m all the way in Toronto. Because of the distance, we don’t get to see each other as often as I would like. On top of my 7 siblings, I now have a brother in law and a two year old niece (who’s the most adorable kid EVER). We grew up in a very festive home, my mom being very into holidays as those celebrations strengthen our family bond. I finally had the pleasure of hosting a family holiday in Toronto. Despite celebrating it a few weeks earlier than the actual date, we made wonderful memories that I’ll always cherish. I had so much fun having my little sisters helping me around in the kitchen, and my baby niece running around and just being cute. We enjoyed a delicious buffet – pancake bar, yogurt parfait, fruits, frittatas, and a chocolate/strawberry cake baked by yours truly. Everyone also enjoyed the mimosa bar – which was achieved with beverage dispensers from Kitchen Stuff Plus. I kept the table decor fairly simple; I used fake grass from the dollar store and garnished it with glittered Easter eggs, flowers, and two Easter bunnies. There was also plenty of chocolate to go around, which contributed to a very hyper two year old. After dinner, we hung out, and made dinner together just like old times. Although I won’t be with my family this Easter weekend (I’ll be in Chicago), I’m happy I got to make those memories with them and they will forever be cherished.
Happy Easter my loves!
