Finding the perfect pair of pants is always a huge headache for me. I have long legs, wide-ish thighs, and a small waist. When looking for affordable pants (trousers) I can wear to the office, I almost never find a pair that gives me the perfect fit without having to get them tailored. Most of the time I find myself always having to buy trousers that are a size above my regular size in order to get my desired length and for them to fit passed my bum. I always end up spending extra money to have the waist tailored, which defeats the purpose of the so called “affordable trousers”. A couple of weeks ago, I stopped by the Reitmans at Yonge Eglinton Centre and decided to check out the promo they have on printed pants (I love coloured trousers for the office). I was a bit weary to try them on, but the sales associate encouraged me to go with one size below my regular as she promised that it would fit. To my surprise, I was able to pull the trousers completely up (with minimal struggle) and they fit my waist perfectly.
I decided to also try on their Chino pants (the grey ones below) and they also fit me perfectly. They gave me the cropped length I love for warmer months, comfort and breathability and most importantly the fit around my waist. I ended up picking up a couple of each pair because they were so affordable ($38 for the printed pants, and $34 for the Chino pants). The Chino pants will definitely be a staple in my wardrobe this spring, I can see myself favouring them over denim because of the breathability. You can wear them in a more glam look like I did below with the fur coat and heels, or they can be dressed down with flats and a simple t-shirt. As for the printed pants, I’m probably going to head back to Reitmans to pick up another colour, two isn’t enough.
