#Foodporn | Winterlicious

It’s here, it’s here!!! The prix fixe extravaganza known as Winterlicious is taking over Toronto from January 30th all the way through February 12th 2015. It’s probably one of my happiest times of the year, since food is my great love. I’ve put together a list of the restaurants I hope to be seen eating out during this wonderful time of the year, as well as some crucial tips to help you survive Winterlicious.

1. ALWAYS make reservations. Don’t show up unannounced as you’ll most likely not get a table. Winterlicious is a time when expensive restaurants offer affordable prix fixe/tasting menus so they’re sure to be extremely busy. Don’t take your chances, call ahead.

2. Be nice and tip. I’m a firm believer in tipping for good service. Due to the price decrease of Winterlicious, many servers will lose a fair amount of their income. Be generous, and tip a little extra if you can.

3. TRY NEW THINGS!!! I cannot stress this enough. Take advantage of the price reductions and eat something you would have never imaged. Even if it ends up being gross. At least you didn’t pay full price.

4. Enjoy, and make sure you have a workout plan for the following week. You’ll need to work off all the extra cheap calories you shamelessly enjoyed. 🙂
